Black Hills Children’s Museum is a 501(c)3 nonprofit. We’ve partnered with the City of Box Elder to create a regional resource, a tourism attraction, and a one-of-a-kind destination for joyful learning and connection in the Black Hills.

By building a children’s museum, we invest in the next generation, offering a dynamic environment that supports early childhood development, family bonding, and lifelong learning.

WHAT IS A CHILDREN'S MUSEUM?

A children’s museum is defined as a nonprofit educational and cultural institution committed to serving the needs and interests of children by providing exhibits and programs that stimulate curiosity and motivate learning.

Children's museums emphasize interactive, hands-on exhibits and activities designed for young children to learn through play and exploration.

We will have a variety of programming as well as themed exhibits that will inspire and encourage interaction with nature, science, and art to foster critical thinking and gross motor skills. Explore exhibit concepts here.
